Undeclared – School of Education

Undeclared Education is designed for incoming students who are interested in preparing to become a teacher or clinician as part of a School of Education major, but are uncertain as to the precise area of study. Students in Undeclared Education will complete foundational courses while they work with their advisor (the Assistant Dean of Education) to determine academic and career goals which will help to determine an ultimate program of study. It is recommended that students declare a major before the end of their second year of study.

What majors can I choose from?

Advisement for Undeclared Education Students

Undeclared Education students are assigned to the Assistant Dean of Education for advising. During advising meetings, students can expect to review current coursework and plans for upcoming registrations, discuss academic and career goals and aspirations in order to determine the correct program(s) of study, and receive guidance related to the change of major process and campus resources. Once a student has completed the change of major process to declare their program(s) of study, the student is reassigned to faculty advisor(s) in their program(s) of study for advising.
