The Career & Community Studies (CCS) program at TCNJ offers college-aged students with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to get a college experience. The students attend CCS classes that teach them life skills, are included in typical TCNJ classes, and participate in internships both on and off campus. The CCS program relies on mentors to support students in their classes and with their assignments outside of class, assisting students in learning tasks at their internships, and attending club meetings with them.
The CCS program is in need of new mentors! Any TCNJ student can become a mentor, and you can choose to mentor as much or as little as you want! Typically, mentors choose to volunteer anywhere from 2-10 hours per week. If you are interested in becoming a mentor or would like more information, email ccs@tcnj.edu or visit the CCS program’s webpage.
