Alumna receives Executive Women of New Jersey Scholarship

Bridget Anton (BA Psychology, 2015; MA School Counseling, 2017) has been awarded the Executive Women of New Jersey’s (EWNJ) Graduate Merit Award. Anton completed her internship experiences at Ewing High School and Lacey High. Her experiences in these placements influenced her decision to continue her education in order to better advocate on behalf of underrepresented students through social justice advocacy and research. She is currently studying for her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Seton Hall University and works in Pediatric Rheumatology and Neuroscience by providing short-term counseling to patients suffering from life-long chronic pain. Her research focuses on the intersection of culture and achievement in first generation students and psychological capital in expatriates working in a cross-cultural context employed by an American-based organization.

EWNJ’s mission is to ensure that women have equal opportunity and representation in senior corporate leadership. Through their mentor program and the Graduate Merit Award Program, they seek to establish a pipeline for future women leaders to excel and flourish in corporate spaces. The EWNJ Graduate Merit Award has provided $1.2 million in scholarship assistance to non-traditional graduate school students attending New Jersey colleges and universities.
