The Joan Padula Campbell ’56 Chair in Education is a prestigious faculty position established to honor and support an outstanding scholar and educator whose work has made a meaningful impact in the field of education, including areas such as counselor education and speech-language pathology. The endowed chair appointment is intended to advance scholarship, innovation, and public impact in areas aligned with the TCNJ School of Education’s mission, such as educational equity, teacher preparation, inclusive practices, policy development, and community-engaged research. As part of his or her position, the chair demonstrates leadership in the intellectual life of the school and college; collaborates closely with faculty, students, and community partners; and/or pursues a robust research agenda.
Opening Doors for Every Student’s Future
Stuart Roe’s project is changing that. Through statewide research, hands-on training for educators and families, and the creation of a specialized graduate certificate program, TCNJ’s building a future where every counselor and special educator is equipped to help students navigate their next steps with confidence. Because when we remove barriers and open doors, we don’t just change a student’s path — we change that student’s life.
